This secret spans
centuries and originates in the sixteenth century between Selena's
five time great grandmother, Selena Morgana and Anne Boleyn. It was when Anne was
about to be beheaded that Selena Morgana met and married her true love, and became the wife of a
witch. Through the generations, all of Selena's ancestors refused to
marry anybody who did not practice magic, keeping the magical
inclinations of her family pure.
Generations later, when Selena was just a
few years old, her parents had a little boy. He was a sickly
child, not expected to live, when Dunham, the Head of the Witch's
Council steps in and has his own physician cure the child. But there
was a condition. Roland had to live with Dunham, grow and learn
under Dunham's tutelage. Selena's parents agreed to this, just to
have their baby live. But they were betrayed. Dunham saw that Roland
bore the mark of the one chosen to aid in his cause of becoming the
ruler of all witches, the Master Witch. After Dunham had Roland
safely in his care, he planted false evidence against Selena's
parents and had them placed in the Dark Obsidian. A place where time
does not exist. Here they remain to this day. Yet Selena had not
known this. She was just a toddler and was told that her parents had
perished in a car accident.
However, what Dunham
didn't count on was Selena. It was true that Roland bore the mark of
the chosen one, but his mark was flawed. It was not the perfect mark
of the one that would be Dunham's salvation or destruction. It was
Selena who bore the true mark. But Dunham did not know that Selena
existed, let alone bore the mark that he was in search of.
When Selena was told
this she had no clue that her family history was so involved and
complicated. And to discover that she is the one to defeat this
enemy of the witch kind, blew her away. Yet she was so happy to hear
that her parents lived still and could be saved and to learn that
the baby she has dreamt of for so many years was in fact her
brother. She set to mind to learn all that she could to save her
family.
